PLAY BOY 1

Four children from the 50s and 60s face the confusion of sexual awakening. The boy in the center holds a Playboy magazine, while the others look at it disconsolately, trying to understand a world that is still too big for them. But the boy in the background, the only one not looking at the magazine, explores on his own, with his hand on his “little bird,” discovering the pleasure that these images awaken.

With humor and tenderness, Alberto León captures that uncomfortable and universal moment, where innocence clashes with curiosity and the first glimmers of desire. An honest and endearing portrait of childhood awakening, wrapped in a pale pink that softens the scene with a touch of irony. In the upper part and between the letters FANTASY, “León” winks at the first cover that PLAYBOY magazine launched in 1953, which featured Marilyn Monroe.
