BEYONCE
In this vertical canvas, Alberto León presents Beyoncé in black and white, exploring a new form of representation through a linear screen effect: a silhouette that is revealed clearly only when viewed from a distance, forcing the viewer to adjust their gaze. The technique, true to León’s style with paint and collage on a background of torn posters, allows him to deconstruct and reconstruct the figure without losing its iconic power.
At the top, you can read GROWN and, at the bottom, WOMAN, composing a clear and affirmative message. Beyoncé’s body merges with different black and white typefaces, as if her image emerged from language itself. Here, León not only pays tribute to the artist, but also proposes a visual reflection on identity, maturity, and female power, moving away from the literal portrait to build something more abstract and symbolic.
