BOB MARLEY

In this 60 x 80 cm canvas, Alberto León merges popular iconography and cultural memory through his usual technique of torn posters and urban collage. In the center, an old poster of Bob Marley smiling is integrated into the composition as if it were part of a wall worn by time.

Next to it, the classic Coca-Cola logo appears between layers of old paper, creating a contrast between Marley’s free spirit and the global symbol of consumption. Both elements merge on the same surface, without hierarchy, as part of the same visual landscape. The work speaks of how icons, however different, end up sharing space in collective culture, between the commercial and the spiritual.
