CAN SUYET RESIDENCE

When @meraki_barcelona_ proposed creating a mural at @residenciacansunyer, the first thing he felt was a huge responsibility. It wasn’t just any space. There, surrounded by trees, silence, and the natural light filtering through the leaves, live people who have lived long lives. Elderly people who find not only care in this place, but also company, dignity, and affection.

He wanted to create an image that spoke of all of this: of love that never ends, of tenderness that is sustained over time, of what remains when everything changes.

Thus were born the protagonists of his work: a grandfather and a grandmother in wheelchairs, swinging gently, suspended in the air and held by long chains. They hold each other delicately, like someone who never wants to let go.

They are not just a couple. They are the symbol of all the bonds that are woven in that place. Of the hands that meet every day between residents, caregivers, and families. Of the life that, even in its most serene stage, still wants to play, to swing, to feel the air on its face.

In that natural environment, where peace and humanity are breathed, he wanted to leave a little piece of art that speaks without words. That embraces. That reminds us that aging can also be beautiful, when done in company.

He thanked Can Sunyer for opening its doors and heart to him, with the hope that this mural will be a reflection of the soul of that place.
