This painting is like a crazy circus that sums up 2020. Boris Johnson is on the left, with a blue balloon and jumbled European stars, and a clown nose that shows the absurdity of Brexit. In the center, Donald Trump, the great ringmaster, with his mask hanging down, reflecting the confusion of COVID. Next to him, Putin, disguised as a mime, holds a rainbow heart, a nod to the tension between Russia and LGBT rights. And on the right, King Juan Carlos I, dressed as a clown, fleeing with a briefcase full of bills, reminding us of his scandals.

An ironic and critical portrait of a chaotic year that was, literally, a circus.
