JOHN LENNON

In this work, Alberto León portrays John Lennon playing the guitar, surrounded by a composition of torn posters that simulate a street wall full of history. The figure of Lennon, serene and focused, is naturally integrated into the collage, as if he were part of the visual fabric of the city.

Subtly, the word PEACE appears formed by loose letters, each taken from a different poster, with disparate styles and typefaces. It is not repeated, but constructed as a fragmented but clear message that emerges from the graphic chaos. It is a nod to Lennon’s constant struggle for peace: broken, incomplete, but always present. This painting ended up traveling to Hong Kong, carrying with it that silent but firm message to another corner of the world.
