In Peace Police, the artist Alberto León offers us a powerful and deeply symbolic image. A riot officer, a figure traditionally associated with control and force, is shown kneeling in a gesture of humility and hope as he releases a white dove, the universal symbol of peace.

The contrast between the rigidity of the uniform and the delicacy of the bird embodies the tension between violence and the desire for reconciliation. On the officer’s armband, the message “GIVE PEACE A CHANCE” can be read, a direct call to give peace a chance; while on his boot, the phrase “IN PEACE WE TRUST” acts as a kind of silent vow, a promise of faith in a more humane future.

With his graphic style and direct language, León reinterprets the symbols of power and transforms them into a message of hope. Peace Police invites us to imagine a world in which even those who represent authority can be bearers of peace.
